About QR Menu Generator
QR Menu Generator is a SaaS platform that turns a restaurant menu into a mobile web page guests open by scanning a QR code. It is built around one thing most menu tools treat as an afterthought: per-dish allergen labelling as required across the EU by Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011.
Why we built it this way
Most QR menu tools were built for a market where allergen information is a courtesy. In the EU it is a legal duty: the 14 allergens in Annex II have to be given in writing, for each dish, before the guest orders. Tools that treat allergens as a free-text note field push that work back onto the operator and produce menus that cannot be filtered, translated or audited. We made allergen tags a structured field in the menu editor instead, so the same data carries into every language the menu is published in.
What the product does
- Publishes your menu as a mobile web page reachable by QR code or link — no app for you or your guests.
- Tags each dish with any of the 14 allergen categories in Annex II of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, plus dietary labels.
- Lets you change prices, items and availability without reissuing the QR code, so printed table stickers stay valid.
- Translates a menu into 11 languages, carrying the structured allergen labels across rather than re-translating them as text.
- Keeps an exportable log of allergen changes.
- Manages one venue or several from the same back office.
What it does not do
- It does not make your restaurant compliant on its own. You enter which allergens each dish contains, and that data is your responsibility — including keeping it correct when a recipe or supplier changes.
- It is not legal advice. Our guidance pages cite the regulation and official sources, but your local food authority is the authority.
- It does not take orders or payments. It is a menu, not a point of sale.
- The AI translation feature translates descriptive text. Allergen labels are structured data and are mapped, not machine-translated — so a translation error cannot silently change an allergen.
